If you’re old enough to remember, Aquanox is a unique series of underwater shooters that dates all the way back to 1996 with Archimedean Dynasty. Over the past few years, developer Digital Arrow and publisher THQ Nordic has been working on bringing that franchise back from the deep.

Aquanox: Deep Descent is a first person underwater vehicle shooter, in which players control a variety of customizable ships to engage in fierce battles in the dystopian deep sea world of Aqua. First presented at Gamescom 2014, the game was successfully Kickstarted in 2015.

Next weekend, a multiplayer beta will be held for Aquanox: Deep Descent. This will be the second multiplayer beta, after the first one in April earlier this year. Game modes will include Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch, with match sizes ranging from 4v4 to 8v8, depending on the size of the map.

From October 27, 5:00 PM GMT to October 29, 10:59 PM GMT, anyone who has backed the game on Kickstarter, participated in the previous beta weekend will be eligible for the multiplayer beta. Interested players who don’t fit those criteria can register for a key by visiting their official Facebook page.
