RGP #7 - Remember GTA I and II?

Random Gaming Post #7 No? Well I do. I found out that GTA I and II were on the original Playstation back when GTA III was the greatest game in the world at the time. Since I didn't have a PS2 or a decked out PC then, I went out and got GTA I hoping to get a similar experience but with just cheaper graphics. Before I got it, I have already played Driver and it was cool but screwing around in the open world wasn't as fun as I had hoped.

After seeing the video that I'm sharing with you right now was pretty much the same reaction I had when I first popped in GTA I. A huge "WTF" on my face and a huge feeling of disappointment, I remember telling my friend, who was with me at the time back when co-op gaming was local (yes kids, you actually had to GO to your friends' houses to play videogames together), and said "this looks like a SNES game!".

After giving the game a chance, cause I did pay for it, I came to realize that is is pretty much the same game but with the limitations of the hardware I had at my disposal. GTA I was a still a very fun game that took some getting used to but I'm glad I got it.

Grand Theft Auto: China Town Wars retains a similar birds eye view style as the old GTA games but also adapts a lot of new elements found in modern GTA titles.

So now I leave you with this video from 4playerpodcast. Watch out for the voice acting because it is FLAWLESS!

Local Gaming Scene - SSF4: Arcade Edition hits the Philippines

If you guys haven't noticed, we, the people in TMG, all live in the Philippines. So every now and then we will be posting some local news and events about whats new in the gaming scene. Local gaming here that's worth a read is rare, well to me at least and I just found the perfect news to start this off.

Street Fighter Fans in the Philippines rejoice! You can now flood the arcades again since Arcade Edition has finally arrived in Metro Manila. Players have reported Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition machines in SM Megamall and Glorietta 4. SM Megamall apparently is the best having 4 cans linked separately while in Glorietta 4 they currently have only 2 cabs linked together. So Megamall is your best bet for more game time against players. Both are set with three rounds and a time limit of 99.  A few other have been reported having Arcade Edition but has not been confirmed yet.

Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition was released last December and it took four months to hit the Philippines... its sad? very. But it doesn't matter now, what matters is we can all see first hand how the new and old characters feel. Players over here are crazy good and I can't wait to get my ass kicked by Yun players.

RGP #6 - Band Kombat

Random Gaming Post #6

Mortal Kombat and Rock Band. Two very awesome games but two very different games. Who knew seeing a mash up of both would look so awesome and so hilarious at the same time. Sub-Zero looks to be shredding on lead while Reptile busts out some sweet vocals. Scorpion is rockin' on the drums and Smoke is chillin on bass.

Who knows? Maybe this is the future of the battle between Earth realm and the Nether realm. The fate of the world rests on your highscore! FIGHT!
