Find Jason and his weapons in Dead Island

When I say Jason, and you know your classic horror flicks, you know exactly who I'm talking about. Somewhere in act III of Dead Island, you come across a guy in a hut surrounded by zombies called Jason. When you kill him, he drops a machete. Jason Voorhees easter? look around the hut you see a lot of similarities inside plus his chainsaw!  check the video to see it for yourself

I'm currently in act II in Dead Island, playing it on PC and enjoying the hell out of it. This video though makes me want to rush to act III to check this out myself. Jason also seems tough as ever since he tossed a couple of grenades to get the kill. You can't repair the chainsaw and can't be upgraded, but it's a one hit kill......well unless your a special kind of zombie. I wished there was more animation to the chainsaw, but it's an Easter egg after all. Are there any more Easter eggs? I hear there's a lot in the island of Banoi.

More Deus Ex goodness! DLC officially announced

Deus Ex: Human Revolution DLC Square Enix and Eidos Montreal finally reveals the first DLC for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, The Missing Link. It's due next month and  this DLC provides more mystery to the conspiracy.

Included will be new environments to explore, new characters to meet, and a chance to rebuild your augmentations from scratch. Yes, I consider it a redo. If by any chance you want to redo your mistakes, this is your chance.

Dead Island patch fixes broken PC version of the game, but say goodbye to your save

When Dead Island came out, most PC gamers got first dibs since they bought digital copies from Steam and started downloading the game. Surprisingly enough, that copy of the game in Steam is apparently an old build of the game(actually, its a Xbox 360 dev build) which still had dev keys in them. It was buggy as ever and have cheat codes and a fly mode hotkey'd to the letter 'Y' on your keyboard. Who made the mistake of releasing this copy? no one knows but I'm sure he's kicking himself right now.

Thankfully a patch has come to fix all these issues, but you lose all your save files in the process. Devs couldn't find a way to save your progress and patch up this pre-released version of the game so they decided to provide a chapter select so you can at least salvage any progress you've made. Patch is up but another issue showed up. Activating the Ripper weapon(pre-order item) is now not working. Techland is aware of this issue and is looking for a fix. Talk about the worst game release in steam. They feel bad for the players that experienced this pre-release build and will announce a "make up" in the coming days.

The PS3 and Xbox 360 version of the game is out now in the Philippines with the PC retail version still MIA. I so want to get this game but on PC. Been thinking about getting the game when it gets released in steam for us on the 9th but with these kinds of issues? I'll patiently wait for the smoke to clear.

Dead Island reviews are up - Some good, some bad..

Dead Island gets released this week and it's only right that reviews start showing up on the net.  Some praise it, some are frustrated by it in a technical level but so far it's currently more on the positive side. Not perfect scores, but not horribly low ones either. Here's a list of review scores so far..

IGN - 8.0

Eurogamer - 6/10

Gameinformer - 8.5

Destructioid - 7/10

Gametrailers - 8.5/10

Ausgamers - 8.1/10

Joystiq - 3/5

From what I've been reading, the game has been getting praise on what it's meant to give, some good co-op zombie slaying fun. Add skill trees, level ups, 30+ hours of game time, and a choice for a new game+ after? man I can see myself already getting lost in this game with a couple of friends. The biggest issues most of the reviews mentions are quest bugs, glitches, voice acting, and a story that I too will ignore when I start playing. I expect the story to be in the same level as Borderlands, horrible.

Reading these reviews just sealed the deal if I wanted to buy the game on day one. Interested in the game? nice! but to get the full effect of Dead Island, I suggest you find a friend or three. Dead Island is out tom Sept 6 on NA, and will be out for the rest of the world on Sept 9 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC.

If you have other review scores to add on the list, hit the comments.

Borderlands 2 gameplay leaked to YouTube

I'm pretty excited for Borderlands 2 and thanks to this leaked video showing some gameplay footage of the game, we now have a clear picture on how this sequel is shaping up. It's 14 minutes of gameplay showing a lot of new things like new weapons, characters,  and even a new menu interface that looks badass.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENyvxX_Eots

The video shows the player playing as Salvador the Gunzerker, the new version of the Berserker class back in the first game. While Brick tosses his guns and uses his fists to wreak havoc, Salvador instead picks up another gun and just starts shooting like a crazy man. Any gun can be dual wielded with Salvador's skill. They even show the new type of guns, like what they call the Wal-Mart-inspired rifle that instead of reloading, you toss the gun and it explodes and a similar gun materialize out of nowhere all loaded up.
