Weekend, what are you playing?

Star Wars: The Old Republic Busy week for me and I'm sure you guys had the same. Just like last week, tell what you've been playing? I've returned to a game I thought I'd never play again, but thanks to a cousin, I was able to play around with it a bit more.

Quash: What game? Star Wars: The Old Republic. Yes, that MMORPG once again hit my PC. But I didn't buy a copy. A cousin of mine was playing it but after a month he actually he stopped playing. It never clicked he said. So after giving his experience with Bioware's first MMO, he offered me his account which now has about 11 days left in it. Heck, 11 days to try out the full game? Why the hell not. On saturday, that's all I did that day. It felt like the World of Warcraft days. At the end of the day I was able to reach from level 1 to 16. My cousin was shocked, I just said I do things quick.

If I wasn't given this opportunity, I would still be playing Resonance of Fate, a JRPG that I've been wanting since it's release in 2010. But for now that will be on hold until my 11 days are up. I have no plans on continuing on my cousin's account so after 11 days, goodbye Star Wars. With Diablo 3 and Dragon's Dogma on the horizon, there's just no room for any other game.

Migoy:

Just tried out Vanquish for the first time this weekend and I am having a blast. Shooting robots in this game is fun, the action is fast paced and there are explosions happening left and right. Also got a 2nd hand PS1 and played some Bust A Groove 2 and a few laps of Chocobo Racing on it. More Bayonetta, I think I'm almost done with the game. I just reached a 4million score in Tetris DS, my highest so far and at level 179. The lines cleared stopped counting once it his 999 but I can assure you that I got more than that.

Sine Mora Official Trailer

sinamora If you're looking for a downloadable game similar to games like Gradius or Type- R, Sine Mora is the game for you. Metacritics show that this Xbox Live arcade game is doing well with the critics. Of course it will do well, when's was the last time you've seen a game like this? It's good to see that some game developers keep games like this alive.

It's a bit refreshing seeing side scroller shot em ups like these. I remember being so focus playing the Gradius games because those damn bullets are everywhere in the screen. That's why I might buy this game because that Insane Mode reminds me of the good old days. The game is already out on Xbox Live for 1,200 MS points. I've been considering on getting a new Live Arcade and It's a coin toss of either I Am Alive or Sine Mora now.

A Heavy Rain glitch that's too funny to ignore

Heavy Rain WARNING SPOILER ALERT! - Before anything else, this glitch happens during the end of Heavy Rain. So you've been warned.

The last part of Heavy Rain is indeed an intense moment, but this glitch changes the tone completely. If you think pressing X for Jason was hilarious, this tops that hands down.

Now I'm curious if I could do this glitch.

Weekend, what are you playing?

glasses are hot What's up guys? We're at the second to the last weekend of March, new releases left and right, some good and some bad. Did anyone get a new game? Or maybe finishing up an older game? What are you playing?

Migoy: My first weekend of HD gaming. Got me a copy of Bayonetta so hopefully that will cover up my lack of single player gaming. The Wii has also been hooked up to the new TV and I've been trying out some games on there and I gotta say, even Wii games look better on a wider screen. Planning to make a quick trip to Greenhills and look for a 2nd hand copy of Vanquish and maybe have myself a Platinum Games gaming weekend. As for streaming, my internet hasn't been setup yet so PLDT is going to get an earful from me very soon and I'm actually having a problem with capturing Wii gameplay. Capturing PS3 gameplay is fine but when I plug in the cables of the Wii into my capture device, I don't get an image on the TV, just a flashing black screen. Plugging in the Wii cables directly to the TV is fine but when I run it through the capture box I don't get any picture on screen. I'll spend this weekend to get some gaming in and get the whole streaming/capture issue fixed. Yo VideoGames!

Quash: For this weekend, I've been playing some Mass Effect 3 multiplayer for that 25% XP boost. After a few matches I decided to revisit one game I missed playing, and that is Uncharted 3. I'm on a trophy hunt and is currently a few chapters away from beating the game in Crushing.  I even did some multiplayer matches and realized how bad I am at the game.

There's not much new games that I want in April. I have a feeling my next game might actually be Diablo 3 which is still at May. So I'm planning to take this time and look back at the game's I passed last year and do some achievement hunting with shelved games, for the heck of it.

Recent Buys: Episode 4 - Migoy finally goes HD

bayonetta you're a mystery Not only was I late to current gen gaming, I was also late to the HD party. That is no longer an issue as I finally bought an HDTV.

Shout-outs to my dad for hooking me up with the money for the tv as it was an early birthday gift from him to me so that's awesome. I got a Panasonic Viera 32" LCD TV (model TH-32C4X). It was going for 14,490php at Gamextreme, which is the same shop where I got the iCore Arcade Sticks. Games look amazing in HD. I can actually read stuff on screen now, legit. I've tried playing using both HDMI and Component cables. To stream and capture footage, we'd have to use the component cables because that's the input jacks of the capture box that we have. You can really tell the difference with how crisp the image output of HDMI compares to component but using component cables is still very playable.

Aside from the new TV, I passed by Datablitz to get a game that's been on my waitlist even before I got a PS3. That game is Bayonetta, the flashy and sexy action game by Platinum Games. I've only gotten past the first level and you can really see the frame drops of the PS3 version compared to the smoother Xbox 360 version but I was still smiling the whole time. As a person who needs more single player games right now, I'm glad I finally picked this game up. I was lucky too as it was last copy that Datablitz had available. My copy of Bayonetta is an R1 release and went for 950php cash.

Today I hooked up the Wii to the new TV and set the output to 480p (the closest thing we'll get to HD Wii gaming that's not emulated). Tried out The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword which still looks really good but I can see why people complain about the Wii not being in HD. You can notice the jagged lines since the Wii has a lower resolution. Aside from Zelda, I also popped in Rhythm Heaven Fever. Since Rhythm Heaven Fever relies mostly on sprite animations, the jump from a CRT TV to an LCD TV wasn't that big of a difference but still having a bigger display just adds to the fun.
