God of War Ragnarok Mural Displayed in BGC, Philippines To Celebrate Game Launch

God of War Ragnarok is officially out in the world and to celebrate the launch of Santa Monica’s latest title, PlayStation hosted a launch event in the Philippines with a mural gallery showcase that also featured the unveiling of Philippine artist Jappy Agoncillo’s live mural showcasing Kratos and Atreus.

Select guests at the event were invited to be the first to preview the God of War Raganarok mural which can be seen at the Two Parkade building, 7th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Philippines.

Jappy Agoncillo is a Muralist and Illustrator from Manila. His works are an amalgamation of various interests and experiences, resulting in pieces that are heavily layered, rich with vibrant color and detail, and eager to tell a story. He has worked with international fashion, films, technology and lifestyle brands , along with having works in New York, Los Angeles, and Mumbai.

“The artwork is heavily inspired by the myths that gave rise to not only the recent God of War games, but its predecessors as well. Jappy wanted a piece that was packed full of easter eggs and story details, just as rich as the storytelling is from ancient Greek and Norse Mythology.” Jappy said.

“I used the myths as a basis for the elements included, like Jormungandr wrapping itself around the artwork just as the myths suggest it wraps itself around the world, Skoll and Hati teasing the beginning of Ragnarok, the flames of Muspelheim and the ice of Fimbulwinter - a call to how the Norse world began and how it will eventually end.”

This is the same artist that created the Thor: Love and Thunder mural also seen in Bonifacio Global City, to celebrate the launch of the Marvel movie that released this year.

The mural you see above will be available to the public only until the end of November, so if you want to take a peek at the mural up close, you have a few weeks to drop by.

PlayStation celebrated the launch of God of War Ragnarok in a similar fashion in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Hong Kong, partnering with talented artists in their respective countries to display their mural art for the public to see and appreciate.
