Apex Legends Mobile is soft launching in 10 countries

EA announced that the mobile version of popular battle royal shooter Apex Legends,  Apex Legends Mobile, is set for a soft launch in select counties - Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, and Colombia.

This limited launch is aimed to prepare the dev team at Respawn and Lightspeed to “test the game’s matchmaking and progression systems, backend infrastructure and in-game commerce” according to a press release sent out. If things run smoothly, the mobile game will be available in other countries in the future and more content will be added to the game.

Apex Legends Mobile launches with limited content, but there’s a good amount of game modes to choose from. For starters, you can play the usual battle royal gamemode on the World’s Edge map. Team DeathMatch, mini battle royale, 3v3 arenas, and ranked battle royale matches will be available as well.

The soft launch will feature Legends Bloodhound, Gibraltar, Lifeline, Wraith, Bangalore, Octane, Mirage, Pathfinder, and Cuastic (unlocked through the Battle Pass)

The mobile version’s in-game store will be available until May 3. Account progression and unlocked items will reset prior to the game’s official full launch, if you do spend money during the soft launch, and item purchased will be converted to in-game currency of equivalent value and will be available in your account when the game fully launches this year.

Apex Legends Mobile will be available through the Google Play Store and the Apple Store.
