Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes announced, gameplay demo released

During PAX 2012 and Metal Gear Solid's 25th anniversary celebration, Hideo Kojima and Konami has finally revealed the next game in the Metal Gear Solid franchise. Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is the first game running on Hideo's new FOX game engine that he's been working on for years. Together with announcing the game, they released a demo that pretty much serves as both a tech demo to showcase the new engine and a gameplay teaser to Ground Zeroes. The game looks amazing, check it out below.

When exactly does it take place? I can't be sure at the moment since there's not much information, but it's obviously after Snake Eater.  In a post by Gematsu, Hideo Kojima confirms this is a "prologue" to Metal Gear Solid 5. The demo was running on a PC. At the very end of the video, you see logo for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 hinting it will be on these platforms, but no official word on what platform the game will be on. Ground Zeroes could also be placed as a next-gen game.

Below is another video if the demo that was shot off-cam during the reveal at PAX. It has extended gameplay revealing that there will be vehicles in the game and it will be open world. Around 9:30 is where the player-controlled gameplay starts and shows Snake using a jeep and also calling in helicopter support.

I'm excited to find out more about Ground Zeroes, as well as Hideo Kojima's FOX engine which is said to be use for other franchises in the future.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengance Teaser Live Action trailer makes no sense

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance Konami Released a teaser live action video for Metal Gear Solid Rising: Revengeance. Cool, if only it makes any sense at all. The video shows a man being experimented on, which could possibly be Raiden, the protagonist of this game. No idea what this is but I'm guessing this could be the origins of Raiden. Check out the video, see if you can make any sense of it all.

It is said that there will be two more videos just like this that will most likely give a bigger picture of this teased video.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengance is not being directly developed by Hideo Kojima. It is now being developed by Platinum Games, creators of games such as Vanquish and Bayonetta, which is a perfect fit if you ask me. The Metal Gear Solid creator is still involved in this project but I'm sure his main priority at this moment is Metal Gear Solid 5.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is aiming for a late 2012 release date and will be out on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

Zone of Enders HD Collection coming Fall, and some news about a new MGS

Zone of Enders HD Collection Konami confirms the release of an HD Collection for Zone of Enders. It was rumored by Hideo Kojima himself with some twitter pics but now it's officially announced and will hit shelves this fall for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360

Fall pretty much means sometime around September. No confirmed date was mentioned so far. It will include Zone of the Enders and Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner fully remastered.

"We are looking forward to bringing the legendary Zone of the Enders series to fans old and new in a high-definition format with the Zone of Enders HD Collection," said Tomoyuki Tsuboi, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc.

I'm sure the fans were hoping for a new Zone of Enders, but looks like any plans for that is on hold since Hideo Kojima was placed in the seat once again to continue the Metal Gear Solid series.

Metal Gear Solid New artAbove is the first art for the next Metal Gear Solid game. It's just Big Boss with a dog with him, nothing to see. Konami is currently hiring developers to work on the game and so far this is the only info about it, aside from it actually happening.

Hideo said at one point that he wanted the 4th to be the last of Snake, so anything is up in the air on how the 5th will go.
