Ubisoft Slowly Coming Back to Steam, Starting With These Three Games

It looks like Ubisoft is returning to steam on December 6 starting with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Anno 1800, and free-to-play game Roller Champions.

A spokesperson for Ubisoft told Eurogamer that the company is “constantly evaluating how to bring our games to different audiences wherever they are, while providing a consistent player ecosystem through Ubisoft Connect”.

The last game from Ubisoft that hit Steam was Starlink: Battle for Atlas back in 2019. The last game from Ubisoft that hit Steam was Starlink: Battle for Atlas back in 2019. Since then, PC players had to consider other platforms such as Epic Games store and Ubisoft Connect to play the latest games such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, Riders Republic, Rainbow Six: Extraction, and more.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is also the only game in the franchise that skipped launching on Steam back in 2020 as it launched for PC through the Epic Game Store and Ubisoft Connect. The timing of Valhalla’s release on Steam is also aligned to the game’s final update called The Last Chapter, a free update that will finally close the Viking chapter for the franchise.

Anno 1800 is also getting updated the week it becomes available in Steam as the new DLC New World Order goes live on December 8, 2022.
