The Internet Is Now Filled With GTA 6 Leaked Footage and Screenshots

[UPDATE: 9/19/2022] Rockstar Games confirmed that a “network intrusion” occurred in their systems, and that their work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will “continue as planned”.

Last week ended with a bang as a massive leak on the yet to be released Grand Theft Auto 6 was released to the internet over the weekend.

A hacker released a crazy amount of footage and screenshots of what is considered raw pre-alpha footage of the Grand Theft Auto game from Rockstar Games currently called by the community Grand Theft Auto 6.

I won’t be posting the leak directly here, but if you wish to take a look for yourself it’s spreading like wildfire anyway so it’s hard to miss as almost all social media platforms have some form of the leak being shared by fans all around the internet. Though, the most significant piece of gameplay is seeing a diner robbery going down with what looks like two of the game’s protagonists, one female and one male, which actually aligns to the details released by a Bloomberg report on Grand Theft Auto 6.

The hacker (goes by the name of Teapotuberhacker or TeaPot) who released at least 90 videos of the yet to be announced game currently in active development, claims he still has more to release through the internet. The hacker is said to be in contact with the game’s developer as well as publisher Take-Two Interactive as the leaker is “looking to negotiate a deal” since the hacker claims to also have the source code for both GTA 5 and 6.

Every footage leaked on Grand Theft Auto 6  is greatly unfinished with placeholder text, audio, and debug UI being shown in the leaked gameplay. The game is presumed years away from release and there are no official details from Rockstar Games about the sequel beyond confirming that the next title is now in active development. The studio and publisher Take-Two Interactive have yet to respond to the massive leak.

The leak is considered real as Bloomberg’s Jason Shreier has confirmed its validity through his sources in Rockstar Games.

This leak is easily considered one of the biggest leaks of the video game industry and this is nowhere close to being resolved at this rate, especially if the hacker does intend to release more details and footage of the unfinished game. A leak this large will greatly impact the game’s development and those involved, likely pushing back the game even further as the sequel to Grand Theft Auto 5 is already considered years from release.

We’ll update this page as more details surface.
