Tactics Ogre: Reborn Officially Announced, Coming to PS5, PS4, Switch, and PC

Square Enix announced Tactics Ogre: Reborn, a remaster of the 2010 version of Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together and it’s coming to PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC on November 11.

This version of the game will feature a redesigned battle system called the Named the Unit-by-Level System. This is how it was described in the Tactics Ogre: Reborn page from Square Enix. 

“Building on what worked in previous versions of Tactics Ogre, this new game incorporates new elements as part of an overall redesign of the battle system. Here’s a brief introduction to some of the new features that await.

“The class-wide level management system found in Tactics Ogre: Wheel of Fortune has been replaced by a unit-by-unit level system.”

“Each unit advances differently depending on its class, making for an elegant system that lets players plot their way through endless combinations of equipment, skills, and magic for each unit.”

“This means that the player is able to consider the bigger picture, and decide on the overall composition of units to bring into each battle.”

This new version of the game will also feature an enemy AI overhaul, and typical quality life improvements such as auto save, faster combat, and an overhaul of the game’s controls. It also comes with fully voiced English and Japanese dialogues as well as all original music of the game was re-recorded.

The game will be available as a physical and digital standard edition on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch, and as a digital-only standard edition on PC. It will contain the Tactics Ogre: Reborn Soundtrack and new pieces composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto, as well as rerecorded live versions of Tactics Ogre favorites like Fight It Out! and Limitation.
