Street Fighter V's Last DLC Character Is A Kickboxer Named Luke

Capcom has revealed the final character to be added to Street Fighter V and his name is Luke, a kickboxer rocking some MMA gloves and is said to be the “key” to the future of the series.

We don’t know exactly what that means when the developers say Luke is a key player in the future of the series but you can expect Street Fighter enthusiasts to think deep and figure out what that means, especially on how he plays as a character.

Based on the gameplay trailer, Luke — who is a brand new character for the Street Fighter series — seems to be a character capable of keeping the pressure going while negating any means of zoning as his version of long range attacks can match projectiles like Ryu’s Hadouken. The ranged attack can even penetrate projectiles and hit his opponent, but that’s likely the EX version of that move.

With Luke being the last character to be added into the game, Street Fighter V will cap at a total of 45 playable characters. The fighting game launched with just 16 characters in 2016.

Luke was revealed during Street Fighter V’s Summer Update presentation and Capcom is planning to launch the character sometime in November 2021. It’s a long wait but the two characters coming out before him will keep players busy as Street Fighter III’s Oro and Rival School’s Akira will be available in-game on August 16.
