Overwatch 2’s Next Hero Is a Tank Named Ramattra

Blizzard revealed the next hero joining Overwatch 2 during the Overwatch League Grand Finals and it’s Ramattra, a tank Omnic activist that was actually introduced years ago at the conclusion of an event called Storm Rising.

Ramattra’s toolkit wasn’t detailed but they did announce that the new tank will join the Overwatch 2 roster on December 6, 2022, alongside the game’s second season. They also mentioned that the new tank will have two forms – an Omnic form and a Nemesis form.

As reported by Polygon, While in Omnic form, Ramattra uses a staff and fires projectiles and creates barriers for the team. When Ramattra switches to Nemesis mode, he becomes a melee brawler for a limited time.

Just like how Blizzard introduced Kiriko in the first season of Overwatch 2, Ramattra will be included in the game’s battle pass system. Players can pay for the premium version of the pass to unlock the new tank instantly or grind your way to unlock him for free. Unlocking Kiriko for free requires you to reach tier 55 in the first battle pass, so it’s not confirmed if this will be the case during season 2.

Ramattra will also arrive alongside a new map, which they haven’t revealed just yet.
