Outriders Will Be Free-to-Play for a Limited Time This Week on Steam

The Worldslayer expansion for Outriders is just around the corner, so Square Enix and People Can Fly are giving those curious about the game a chance to play their looter shooter for free from June 20 to June 23 on Steam.

While the original game didn’t receive overall positive reviews, I enjoyed every second spent on Outriders when it came out last year. It reminded me why I enjoy looter shooters, and while the developers are not developing Outriders like a live service game, the upcoming expansion Worldslayer aims to bring new life to the shooter with a new campaign, new gear to hunt, expanded trees for existing classes, and an endgame that is hopefully better than the original.

Worldslayer will launch on June 30, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Those new to the game and jumping with access to Worldslayer will be pleased to know that playing the original game first isn’t required as the expansion will allow you to skip the campaign and start with a max level character, so that you’re all set to tackle the new expansion.
