Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak’s Free Title Update 4 Goes Live on February 7

Capcom announced that Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak’s free title Update 4  will go live on Tuesday, February 7 for the Nintendo Switch and PC (Switch) version. It’s a big update as it adds more monsters to hunt at higher ranks.

Additional Monsters

Velkhana

Known as the "Ice Dragons that Freeze All" or the "Iceborne Wyvern," there exist few records of Velkhana, as such, they remain shrouded in mystery. Their icy breath is so cold that it can form massive spires and walls of ice out of nowhere, and is even powerful enough to freeze other monsters. Some reports indicate that Velkhana will freeze their rivals in order to establish their domain.

Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax

Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax are elder dragons that have found a way to overcome their affliction. By suppressing the Qurio virus, they have gained great strength and new abilities. Their abundance of dragon energy has granted them greater agility, and even more devastating explosive powers.

Velkhana will be available at MR 10 or higher, and Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax quests will be unlocked at MR 160 or higher respectively. Please look forward to yielding some valuable new weapons and armor, as well as new skills with their materials.

The Afflicted “Chaotic Gore Magala”will be appeared in Anomaly Research Quests!

Added A8★ Anomaly Quests
A8 Anomaly Quests will be opened, and "Afflicted monsters" such as Chaotic Gore Magala will be added. The quest to slay A8 monsters is a super-difficult quest that needs to be unlocked by advancing the "Anomaly Investigations". Players who are confident in their skills must come and challenge it!

*The A8★ Anomaly Quests will be available when the Anomaly Research Level reaches Lv211 or higher.

*Monsters of the corresponding level may need to be hunted in MR quests.

Raised Level Cap for Anomaly Investigations

The level cap for Anomaly Investigations will be raised to 220, so prepare for even more challenging monster battles and obtain the new afflicted materials! And the quests of Lv111 or above will appear Risen Elder Dragons. Use the new afflicted materials to increase the level of each boost items of the weapon Qurious Crafting.

New event quests will be added

After the Ver.14 update, event quests with different rewards will be released regularly.

Quests can be claimed by going to the Courier and selecting "Add-on content" from the menu. They can then be accepted by going to the Quest Counter at the Outpost or the Gathering Hub.

Starting with the Layered armor set of "Minoto", we will also be adding new gestures, poses, hairstyles, makeup & face paints, BGM and stickers, and the additional hunter voice.

In celebration of the release of Free Title Update 4, Capcom will be giving out a Palamute Layered armor set. All you need to do is set up your Capcom ID and register.  The free Layered armor set will be available from Thursday, 2 February 01:00 AM UTC To Monday, 6 February 04:00 AM UTC.

Capcom has more updates planned for Monster Hunter Rise as another Title Update is planned for this April.

Monster Hunter Rise launched on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Game Pass last month and are behind on the latest as these platforms still don’t have the Sunbreak expansion available as it’s planned for release sometime in 2023.
