Marvel Snap’s Sword and Shield Season Introduces Nick Fury

Marvel Snap Sword and Shield season for September 2022

Marvel Snap’s September 2022 season is now live replacing the Heroes for Hire season with the Sword and Shield season, which comes with a new battle pass featuring Iron-Man and Agent 13 variants and a new 5 drop card Nick Fury.

Marvel Snap Sword and Shield Season - September 2022

Just like previous seasons, the Sword and Shield season adds a new battle pass and will run for the whole month of September. It contains a few resources to earn, and if you purchase the premium version of the battle pass you’ll instantly get access to the new Nick Fury card. Further down the battle pass you’ll eventually unlock a few resources to improve the quality of your cards as well as variants.

There are 50 rewards to earn in the Sword and Shield battle pass with the Nick Fury variant being the last reward to earn. Any levels earned passed level 50 will reward you with a Season Cache, and if its contents are similar to last season, you will either get a random amount of either gold or credits.

Here are the notable rewards in the Sword and Shield battle pass.

  • Level 1 - Nick Fury

  • Level 8 - random card variant

  • Level 12 - Agent 13 Avatar

  • Level 14 - Agent 13 card variant

  • Level 21 - random card variant

  • Level 30 - Iron-Man Avatar

  • Level 40 - Iron-Man card variant

  • Level 46 - Nick Fury Avatar

  • Level 47 - random card variant

  • Level 48 - random card variant (free)

  • Level 50 - Nick Fury card variant

As for the new card added to the game, Nick Fury is a 5 drop, 7 power card that gives you three random 6 drop cards into your hand. As a 5 drop, he’s a solid choice as 7 power can bolster a lane quite heavily, then you have multiple choices for your 6th drop when you enter the final round, assuming there’s no Magik play or Limbo as a location.

With the cards you get being given at random, you are susceptible to having 6 drops with no synergy or have no value for your current situation, but definitely a fun addition that could spawn interesting decks in the coming weeks.

Marvel Snap is currently available in select countries such as Southeast Asia.
