Developer Second Dinner has unveiled the next season for their online card game, Marvel Snap. Kicking off on May 6, 2025, the new season is themed around the New X-Men, introducing newer Marvel characters from Xavier's School for Gifted Children.
Marvel Snap May 2025 Season – New X-Men
The season card for May is Esme Cuckoo, another card that copies a card into your deck but sets the copied card’s Cost and Power. This makes high-Cost, low-Power cards the optimal choice. The catch is that the card you copy seems to be randomized. Esme is also coming in as a 3-Cost card—a curve that’s already crowded with powerful options.

Esme Cuckoo - 3 Cost, 4 Power (Season Card)
On Reveal: Copy a card from your deck into your hand. Set its Cost to 3 and Power to 4.
Surge - 2 Cost, 2 Power
On Reveal: Give the top card of your deck -1 Cost and +1 Power. After you play it, repeat this ability.
Prodigy - 3 Cost, 4 Power
On Reveal: If this is in the back row, copy the text of the card in front of it.
Elixir - 2 Cost, 3 Power
On Reveal: One of your cards destroyed last turn gets revived here.
Xorn - 2 Cost, 3 Power
After ANY 3 or 4-Cost card is played here, move it to another location.

Pit of Exile - Cards with 10 or more Power can’t be played here.
Genosha - After turn 5, all but your highest-Cost here are destroyed.
The seasonal card is questionable, but the cards coming weeks after the season goes live show a lot of promise and interesting interactions. Surge, Prodigy, and Elixir delivers unique interactions that feel unique, showing that the last few seasons and this upcoming season is Second Diner really expanding the different card mechanics beyond what was offered previously. They have introduced spell cards and now we see more cards applying affects to cards in either the back or front row of a location.
April 2025 was a fun season. Let’s see if May will be the same, especially with Snap Packs now live.
Marvel Snap May 2025 – No More Spotlight Cache Schedule
This season will no longer feature a Spotlight Cache schedule, as the new Snap Packs system has officially gone live. Cache Keys are now gone, and players will need to grind Tokens each day to pick up old and new cards through Snap Packs.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows greatly blends the classic Assassin’s Creed stealth with the RPG elements of recent entries. Its dynamic world, seasonal changes, and improved stealth mechanics make exploration a joy, but Yasuke’s restrictive gameplay, overall story, and a half-baked notoriety system hold it back.
