Kingdom Hearts 4 Launching on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC Simultaneously
During the June 9 Nintendo Direct, Square Enix dropped a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4, the next entry in the long and confusing action RPG series featuring Disney and Square Enix characters.
It has been years since we last heard anything substantial about Kingdom Hearts 4, and Square Enix has finally got something to share, and to be honest i’m surprised to see it in a Nintendo Direct.
The new trailer gives us a deeper look at the game in action, and with it comes a major platform announcement: Kingdom Hearts 4 will launch simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, with no platform exclusivity. It also marks the first time a mainline Kingdom Hearts game will be available natively on a Nintendo console at launch.
Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III]
Square Enix also announced Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] for Nintendo Switch 2 during the Direct, replacing the previous cloud-only versions of the games. The collection includes Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC), and will be available on Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 8, 2026.
Players who own the original Switch cloud versions will be able to transfer their save data.
The June Nintendo Direct had a lot of heavy hitters as well. They revealed Xenoblade Genesis, and a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
