Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Announced, Coming October 9, 2026

Capcom was at the June 2026 Nintendo Direct and casually revealed Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, an expansion for the action RPG. It will launch on October 9, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Switch 2.

Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will launch bundled with the base game on Switch 2, but those who already own the base game on other platforms can purchase the expansion separately. No price has been revealed just yet.

This expansion adds the snowy Norgan region to explore, a new appraisal mechanic where players find items and have them appraised to unlock new weapons, armor, and skills, and introduces the Relic Expedition Cycle. The expansion will also feature 12 new dungeon challenges spread across the game world, along with new hairstyles and tattoo cosmetics for your Pawn.

Dragon's Dogma 2 free updates coming

The expansion is still a few months away, but Capcom is also rolling out free title updates for the base game. The first launches today, June 9, adding quality-of-life improvements including an Eternal Ferrystone and more Portcrystals. This is a useful addition to the base game given that Dragon's Dogma 2 doesn't use traditional fast travel, requiring players to manually place Portcrystals at locations before they can warp to them.

The second update arrives in August, bringing framerate and performance improvements across all platforms, additional save slots, and more.
