Killing Floor 3 Announced During Gamescom 2023 Opening Night Live Event
At the Opening Night Live event for Gamescom 2023, Tripwire Interactive revealed Killing Floor 3 with a cinematic trailer showing the creation of one of the mechanized zombie creatures you’ll fight likely in waves.
The third installment is set in 2091, 70 years after the events of Killing Floor 2 as a megacorp Horzine has produced an obedient horde army called Nightfall. You play the role of Nightfall specialists who will slowly grow by unlocking new skills as they survive waves of Zeds.
Tripwire first released Killing Floor way back in 2009, and the sequel Killing Floor 2 in 2016, giving the upcoming title a seven-year gap between the last iteration.
“ It's hard to believe that Killing Floor is almost 15 years old now. ”We've provided free support to the player base all that time, through two incarnations, so now we're beyond excited to start showing you what mayhem the next iteration of the franchise will bring you!" says Tripwire Interactive’s Co-Founder and CEO in their announcement post about the new game.
Killing Floor 3 is being developed in Unreal Engine 5 and no release date or windows were mentioned during the reveal.
Code Vein 2 delivers serviceable soulslike combat and flexible builds, but its bloated systems, uninspired open world, and inconsistent performance keep it from standing out in an already crowded genre. It definitely has ambition, but many of its ideas feel more like background noise than meaningful twists, leaving the sequel competent but ultimately forgettable.
