How To Join the First Descendant Crossplay Beta Happening This August

UPDATE (8/2/2023): Nexon has announced that they are postponing the crossplay beta by four weeks. The crossplay beta will now be on September 19, 2023.

Nexon announced that they will be hosting a crossplay beta test for their free-to-play third-person co-op RPG shooter The First Descendant across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC from August 22 to August 28. To join the upcoming beta test, it’s a rather simple process.

How to join The First Descendant Crossplay Beta

The cross-play beta is fairly simple. For PC players, all you need to do is head to Steam and visit The First Descendant Steam page and click the ‘request access’ button. If you participated in the previous closed beta on Steam, you will automatically have access to the cross-play beta this August.

For PlayStation and Xbox players, a bit of patience is required as all you can do right now is simply input your email address and they will send you a confirmation email that you will take part in the crossplay test.

When you’ve submitted your email, the site will then inform you that they will “send detail guidelines to the email address previously provided before the test begins”.

Once you get a similar email below (which took a few minutes for us) you should be all set for the beta in August. All you can do for now is wait and expect another email closer to the crossplay beta for more details.

What is in The First Descendant Cross-play beta?

Nexon confirmed that players will get to play two new characters in this version of the game, Valby, and Kyle. The cross-play beta will also contain new missions that can be played either solo or through co-op. as well as boss raids which require a team of 4 players. The cosmetic system will also be available in this test.

Nexon also states this version will have an improved gameplay experience as they’ve updated these parts of the game:

  • Updated UI, UX, and QoL elements

  • Upgraded server and game performance

  • Updated jump motion and gun sound effects

  • Quality audio design in collaboration with Stephen Barton

The First Descendant is set to release sometime this year for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (through Steam).
