Grand Theft Auto VI Delayed to November 2026

Rockstar Games announced that they are delaying their highly anticipated game Grand Theft Auto VI to November 19, 2026, making this their second delay since the game was officially announced to the public.

The reason for the delay is simply and common for most projects as they need more time to polish the game.

Here’s the full statement:

Hi everyone,

Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026.

We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.

We want to thank you again for your patience and support. While the wait is a little longer, we are incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern day Vice City.

Sincerely,
Rockstar Games

To me, it shows not everything can be set in stone, especially a giant franchise like GTA, but it does make one thing clear - 2026 is closing with GTA 6. It’s hard to see any game commit to a release date beyond November 19, and quite frankly, it’s good for the rest of 2026 as many can pivot away from GTA’s blast zone to minimize possible loss, as all eyes will likely be on Rockstar November onwards.

Right now, the only consistent and major release is 2026’s Call of Duty. Will they make an earlier release?
