Diablo IV Tower and Leaderboards Beta Launches Today | Patch 2.52.2
/Blizzard is rolling out its long-awaited Tower and Leaderboards update today with the release of the 2.52.2 build of Diablo IV. Unlike previous updates, this one is going straight to beta instead of the usual PTR.
The new Tower works similarly to other endgame content. Players will climb through a series of increasingly difficult levels, facing denser enemy encounters as they go. At the top, a boss awaits to complete the run.
This is where the new leaderboards come in. They track your fastest Tower runs and compare them with other players’ best times, making this the game’s most competitive feature for those looking to compete against one another. Leaderboards will reset on a two-week schedule during the current season.
Access to The Tower is available to all players who have reached Rank 2 in the current season. Simply interact with an Obelisk in Cerrigar to start your run.
Keep in mind that both The Tower and leaderboards are still in beta, so this isn’t the final experience. Blizzard opted for an early release to gather instant player feedback rather than the usual PTR testing.
Blizzard continues to support Diablo IV as it builds toward the release of the game’s second expansion, Lord of Hatred, on April 28. Those who pre-order the expansion get early access to one of the expansion’s new class the Paladin. The second new class has yet to be revealed by Blizzard.
