Dead Island 2 Surpasses 1 Million Sales Copies in 3 Days, Says Deep Silver
The long-awaited sequel Dead Island 2 is off to a good start as publisher Deep Silver has announced that the zombie slayer action RPG has surpassed 1 million sales copies within three days since it officially launched last week on April 21.
In a report by VGC, Deep Silver also shared a few more stats to celebrate the first 72 hours since the game launched:
11 million total hours played by players
28 million total number of player deaths (over twice the population of Los Angeles)
45 million zombies sliced in half
756 million zombie limbs hacked off
1.1 billion total number of zombies slain
This is a great start for a project that went through a rocky development cycle since it was announced in 2014. Dead Island 2 went through two different studios until it was eventually completed by Dambuster Studio, which only took over development in 2019.
In my review of Dead Island 2, despite it not bringing much to the zombie-slaying table, it's a fun and gory time if you're looking for the same Dead Island experience you remember when the first game was released in 2011.
Dead Island 2 is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (through Epic Games Store).
I really cannot recommend Pragmata enough. Capcom has once again outdone themselves by delivering an exceptionally-polished brand new IP with lovable characters and a wholly unique take on dual-character combat, pairing excellent enemy and level designs with heavily customizable loadouts for an intense and addictive experience.
