Dead by Daylight Shrine of Secrets Perks for May 17 - May 23 2023

This week, Dead by Daylight’s Shrine of Secrets was revealed earlier than usual and features just one new perk from the Tools of Torment Chapter. Perks to consider are Cut Loose, No Mither, Monitor and Abuse, and Dead Man’s Switch. Here’s a quick detailed rundown of each perk from May 17 - May 23, 2023.

Dead by Daylight Shrine of Secrets perks for May 17 - May 23, 2023

This section in the in-game store of Dead by Daylight allows players to unlock perks from Survivors or Killers still unavailable for them, or have not yet earned the highest tier.

Choose carefully if you don’t have many shards available during this time as 2,000 shards are hard to earn, especially for new players from either side.

Killer Perks

Dead Man’s Switch (The Deathslinger) - After hooking a Survivor, this perk activates. for ne next 20/25/30 seconds, any Survuivor that stops repairing a generator before its fully repaired will cause the entity to block it until this perks effect ends.

The affected Generators are highlighted by a white Aura.

Monitor and Abuse (The Doctor) - This perk increases the radius of the Killer’s default Terror Radius by 8 meters for the entire match.

But whenever you are not in a chase with a Survivor, your Terror Radius is reduced by 16 meters, and your field of view is increased by 3/5/10 degrees.

Survivor Perks

Cut Loose (Thalita Lyra) - After performing a rushed vault while being chased, this per activates for the next 4/5/6 seconds. While activated, this perk suppresses both loud noise notifications and sound effects when doing a rushed vault. When you do a successful rushed vault, while this perk is activated resets its timer.

This perk has a cooldown of 45 seconds.

No Mither (David King) - You start the Trial with the Broken status effect and will last for the whole match.

Because of this perk active, you get benefits such as not leaving pools of blood, a reduction of making noise while injured by 25/50/75%, a recovery speed increased by 15/20/25%, and the ability to fully recover from the dying state on your own.

Which perks are worth getting this week?

This week we have an earlier shrine reset, which is rather weird but might suggest a new Chapter reveal is just around the corner.

For Survivor, we have the new Cut Loose perk which can be rather strong during chases as you could fool a killer multiple times if done right with the proper tile. Definitely something worth investing in if you push yourself to be chased.

On the other hand, we have No Mither, a perk that I avoid at all costs. Despite the benefits it brings, it just instantly puts a target on your back as the Killer will instantly know you’re running this perk and will likely be the first target.

For Killer, we have two great options this week. Monitor and Abuse is a fantastic perk for Killers with a small terror radius (Had, Myers, etc), and pairing them with this perk increases the chances of catching Survivors off guard.

Lastly, we have Dead Man’s Switch a great Generator defense perk that works well with perks like Pain Resonance. If used correctly, you will instantly know which Generator they are currently working on, giving you key information on where to apply pressure.
