Dead by Daylight Shrine of Secrets Perks for August 9 - August 15, 2023

This week is Alien Chapter PTB day! But it’s also a new week for Dead by Daylight’s Shrine of Secrets as it features the perks Botany Knowledge, Inner Focus, Dragon’s Grip, and Gearhead. We take a look at what’s offered to see if it’s worth your hard-earned shards.

Dead by Daylight Shrine of Secrets perks for August 9 - August 15, 2023

Shrine of Secrets can be found in the in-game store of Dead by Daylight which allows players to unlock perks still unavailable for their account or have not yet earned the highest tier.

Killer Perks

Dragon’s Grip (The Blight) - Damaging a Generator activates this perk for the next 30 seconds.

The first Survivor that interacts with the damaged Generator will scream and reveal their location to the Killer for 4 seconds and will suffer the Exposed status effect for 60 seconds.

This perk will have a cooldown of 120/100/80 seconds.

Gearhead (The Deathslinger) - After a Survivor loses a Health State, Gearhead activates for 30 seconds.

While this perk is active, a Survivor that does a Good Skill Check while repairing a Generator reveals their aura to the killer for 6/7/8 seconds.

Survivor Perks

Botany Knowledge (Claudette Morel) - This perk increases healing speed by 30/40/50%.

This perk will also reduce the healing efficiency of Med-Kits by 20%.

Inner Focus (Haddie Kaur) - With this perk, you can see Scratch marks of other Survivors.

Whenever another Survivor loses a Health State within 32 meters of you, the Killer’s Aura is revealed to you for 3/4/5 seconds.

Which perks are worth getting this week?

Dragon’s Grip has the potential for Killers that can zip around the map quickly to maximize the time a Survivor is Exposed from the perk. On the other hand, Gearhead may have been buffed in recent patches but it didn’t become one of the strongest choices for information gathering as you still need to get a hit and have a window to get something out of it.

For Survivors, Botany Knowledge is one of those basic perks that have seen better days. Alone, it’s pretty useless and will need to be paired with healing perks like Self-Care. Not ideal considering it uses up one perk slot just to improve another perk.

Despite this, it’s not as bad as the other Survivor perk as Inner Focus is a perk I hardly recommend unless you want to challenge yourself. The fact that you need to be nearby to get value from the perk and only lasts for 5 seconds doesn’t make it an appealing perk. If experienced, a perk like Bond will be just as effective as seeing the aura of nearby Survivors will give you vital information you need, especially if the Killer is chasing one of them as its obvious to see they are running away from something.

Alongside the reset of Shrine of Secrets, the next PTB is now live with the Alien Chapter, allowing players to try out the new Killer The Xenomorph and the new Survivor Ellen Ripley.
