Cyberpunk 2077 Expansion Called Phantom Liberty Announced, Patch 1.6 Now Live

CD Projekt Red have announced the first expansion for their sci-fi RPG Cyberpunk 2077 and it’s called Phantom Liberty. It’s set to come out sometime in 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Stadia. They also detailed what’s inside the game’s 1.6 update which went live today.

The expansion will be set in a new district found in Night City and the studio calls this expansion a “spy-thriller”. Keanu Reeves will return to voice Johnny Silverhand for the expansion.

Phantom Liberty was announced during their latest Night City Wire livestream, which also highlighted the upcoming animated show Cyberpunk Edgerunners coming to Netflix.

The studio also detailed the upcoming 1.6 update called the Edgerunners update for Cyberpunk 2077, which went live today. This adds new DLC content inspired by the animated series Cyberpunk Edgerunners, a new mini game called Roach Race, the ability to customize the look of your gear (transmog), new Ripperdoc additions, cross-progression, and new weapons. The team also announced Red Mod, a modding platform for players to alter the PC version of Cyberpunk 2077. 

CD Projekt Red also announced that patch 1.6 will be the last update for previous gen platforms such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
