Alone in the Dark Reboot announced for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC

A reboot of the Alone in the Dark series was announced during THQ Nordic’s THQ Showcase online. The publisher is reviving the series with Pieces Interactive helming the project and is expected to launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A reveal trailer was released together with the announcement.

With it being a reboot, the game will be set again in Derceto Manor in gothic America south in the 1020s. You play as investigator Edward Carnby but the game will also feature you playing as Emily Hartwood, the niece of the manor owner, two different perspectives with their own cutscenes and levels.

The Alone in the Dark reboot will feature the classic horror experience with third-person combat against monstrosities, puzzle, exploration, and an original story being crafted by Mikael Hedberg as lead writer, known for his work in Amnesia: The Dark Descent and SOMA. The characters, places, and themes that are known about the Alone in the Dark series are said to be retained in the reboot.

No release date was given but so far next-gen consoles and PC are the platforms for Alone in the Dark.
