Whether you're exploring Game Pass for the first time or looking for your next great game, this list highlights the best titles to download on PC Game Pass this July 2025. From new releases and recently updated picks to overlooked gems, these are the games worth your time this month. July also feels like a great moment to revisit older titles that still hold up.

New on PC and Xbox Game Pass – July 2025

July is here, and the Wave 2 titles that hit during the second half of June 2025 are now all available. The big highlight from Wave 2 has to be for RTS fans as they get access to the remaster of Warcraft 1, Warcraft 2, and Warcraft 3, which is called Warcraft 3 Reforged.

But there’s more to check out. Here are my picks:

The Alters

11 Bit Studios has something special with The Alters, a survival story where you play as the lone survivor of a space crew stranded on an unknown planet. To stay alive, you must clone different versions of yourself to help manage your mobile base.

I’m loving the balance of resource management, surviving planetary dangers, and keeping my Alters from becoming problems of their own. I’m 10 hours in, and the story just keeps getting better. Definitely worth trying.

FBC: Firebreak

FBC: Firebreak is a fun co-op shooter from a side team at Remedy Entertainment. While it doesn’t offer much long-term content, I enjoyed the level design and the teamwork required to complete stages.

If you’re curious, I recommend trying it soon as player activity is likely to drop quickly, which might make finding matches harder in the future.

Warcraft 3 Reforged

If your first experience with Warcraft was through World of Warcraft, this is your chance to explore the games that started it all. Warcraft 3 Reforged modernizes the RTS classic with visual upgrades and new features. Originally released in 2020, it’s still a solid RTS experience.

If you appreciate your time with Reforge, you can attempt to try much older titles such as Warcraft 1 and Warcraft 2, which are also available on PC Game Pass.

Call of Duty WWII

Released in 2017, Call of Duty WWII was Activision’s return to the franchise’s roots. The campaign is a highlight, letting you experience key battles of World War II with solid storytelling and pacing. Multiplayer is the usual Call of Duty fare, but it’s worth the download for the campaign alone.

Rematch

From the creators of Sifu comes Rematch, a 5v5 competitive online soccer game that’s surprisingly addictive. It’s fast-paced, skill-based, and while it’s “just soccer,” it plays more like Rocket League with people—if that sounds fun, you’ll probably love it.

The game has quickly gained traction, hitting over 30,000 concurrent players on Steam according to SteamDB. Not too bad for a game that’s Rocket League, but with people.

Editor’s Picks – Must-Play & Recently Updated Games

Doom: The Dark Ages

Doom: The Dark Ages is the latest mainline entry in the legendary shooter series. It keeps the adrenaline-pumping gameplay but adds a more up-close, brutal combat style and a cinematic campaign that’s the longest in the franchise.

It’s an easy 4.5/5 for me.

Rainbow Six Siege X

Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege has transformed into Rainbow Six Siege X, the game’s biggest update since launch. It brings visual upgrades, gameplay changes, and reworked maps with new tactical interactions like fire extinguishers and flammable pipes.

There’s also a new 6v6 mode called Dual Front, where you can select any operator, regardless of their original team role. Siege X is now free-to-play, but Ranked play remains locked behind the Elite edition.

Lords of the Fallen

Action RPG soulslike Lords of the Fallen was updated back in April with co-op, making it one of the many soulslike to have a friendly co-op feature for those who prefer taking down bosses with a friend.

It’s still a solid game that continues to be supported by developer CI Games.

Star Wars Battlefront II

No major updates here, but Star Wars Battlefront II remains worth your time. Thanks to the hype from Andor Season 2’s conclusion, online player numbers are up again. After its rough launch, the game has grown into one of the most enjoyable Star Wars shooters as word of mouth continues to spread about the game. It’s a great time to jump in.

Blue Prince

Blue Prince is a hidden gem that was released in April and surprised the world. You play as the heir to a mysterious mansion with a shifting layout that resets each day. Every run reveals more about the house and the story tied to your inheritance. If you haven’t given this a try, I highly recommend it, and to keep playing as “completing” the game is just the start. There’s more waiting for you beyond the initial goal.

Balatro

One of the biggest indie hits of 2024, Balatro is still a must-play on Game Pass. It’s deceptively simple, wildly addictive, and every run feels fresh. You’ll keep going for “one more round” as you unlock Joker cards, special modifiers that can push your poker hands to insane multipliers. It’s a perfect game for quick sessions that can easily stretch into hours.

Editor’s Picks – Overlooked Gems

Some of these titles never got the attention they deserved, while others have quietly sat in the Game Pass library, overshadowed by newer releases. Whether you missed them or need a reminder of how good they are, these picks are absolutely worth revisiting.

Wasteland 3

If you’re excited for InXile Entertainment’s upcoming Clockwork Revolution, now is a great time to revisit Wasteland 3, a fantastic CRPG from 2020. It’s packed with deep mechanics, rewarding tactical combat, and choices that actually matter. If you enjoy smart positioning and character-building, this is an underrated gem you shouldn’t skip.

Kunitsu-gami: Path of the Goddess

One of Capcom’s newest IPs, Kunitsu-gami: Path of the Goddess blends tower defense with fast-paced action. You’ll travel from village to village, freeing the trapped, arming them, and defending each area against waves of demons pouring out of Torii gates.

It’s visually stunning, and while the gameplay may seem a little awkward at first, it quickly clicks—and when it does, it’s hard to put down.

Dredge

Dredge is a top-down fishing adventure with a dark twist. You play as a lone fisherman exploring an eerie archipelago filled with secrets and strange characters. What looks like a simple fishing game slowly reveals a deeper, more unsettling world. It’s incredibly easy to lose track of time while playing this one.
