The Cycle: Frontier Cataclysm Event Delayed, Planned To Go Live Next Week

[UPDATE: 9/22/22] Yager have finally revealed the details of the Cataclysm event. The event goes live on September 22 and will last until season 2 arrives on September 28.

The Cycle: Frontier, a free-to-play high risk shooter now out on PC, will soon end its first season and will feature an in-game event called the Cataclysm that will transition the game to Season 2, but it looks like it has been delayed and will instead start sometime next week.

According to a Tweet from the game’s official Twitter account, the Cataclysm event was originally planned to last for two weeks but it looks like the team at Yager needed more time and decided to delay the event, likely to work out any last-minute kinks.

There are no clear details on what exactly will happen during the Cataclysm event but it's the developers way of transitioning the game to Season 2 in a narrative perspective. It will last during the last few weeks of Season 1 as Season 2 is expected to go live on September 28.

They didn’t mention when exactly the event will go live next week.

When Season 2 goes live, just like games such as Escape from Tarkov, the game will undergo a seasonal wipe - All players will be stripped of their equipment and resources, and faction progression, essentially making all players start from scratch. The only items that will retain when the seasonal wipe occurs is the premium currency Aurum, the cosmetic items you’ve purchased and earned in the game’s battle pass, and any DLC packages you’ve purchased.

The biggest highlight of Season 2 of The Cycle: Frontier is the introduction of a new map called Tharis Island, which will be considered the hardest map in the game once it goes live. You’ll need to progress through the usual Faction quests to gain access to the new map, and it will likely be a race to uncover the map’s secrets.

The Cycle: Frontier is now available and free-to-play through Steam.
