Rainbow Six Quarantine Renamed To Extraction, Full Reveal Is This Weekend

Ubisoft has officially announced that Rainbow Six Quarantine has been renamed to Rainbow Six Extraction and will be revealed at the next Ubisoft Forward showcase happening this weekend during E3 2021.

Quarantine isn’t the best name for an upcoming game, at a time when the world is facing a global pandemic, and they finally made the name change just days before it’s official reveal in the E3 Ubisoft Forward showcase.

In a report by VG247 back in February, CEO Yves Guillemot said “It is something we are evaluating and we will see what comes in the future on that product,” when asked if about the game’s name during Ubisoft’s earnings call for Q3 of FY2020-21.

At one point in time it was rumored that the co-op focused FPS game was going to be changed to Parasite but that obviously didn’t stick.

This weekend will be the first time we will see gameplay footage of Rainbow Six Extraction, a tactical co-op shooter and Extraction is the name of the game, according to creative director Patrik Methe as a team of Operators (From Rainbow Six Siege) will take on an alien threat and hopefully complete their mission with everyone intact.

Rainbow Six Extraction was first revealed during E3 2019 and has been delayed as the team needed more development time. Since then, new official details about the game halted but were given confirmations from Ubisoft that the game still exists and that it is still in active development.

Now they’re ready to show it to the world as we get to see Rainbow Six Extraction in action during Ubisoft Forward this weekend, officially kicking off E3 2021.
