Ragnarok Online is launching in Southeast Asia...again

Gravity Game Hub (GGH), a subsidiary of Gravity, announced that they are launching the PC version of MMORPG Ragnarok Online to select Southeast Asia countries in the first quarter of 2022.

Based on the press release provided, this re-release is simply the same old Ragnarok Online many have played when it launched on the PC platform way back in 2002 and will be available in Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Details are vague at the moment but this upcoming re-release will be “jam-packed with dynamic community events on multiple platforms.” according to Gravity Game Hub.

“Competitive features can be experienced by playing with friends from grinding, boss hunting to joining guilds. This system will benefit gamers in-game through battle events which GGH visions into Live Regional Tournaments and other exciting competitions that the community can look forward to.”

Ragnarok Online has been re-released multiple times in the past in different countries, specifically in Southeast Asia, clearly showing that many are still eager to play this nearly 20-year-old game. In the Philippines, Ragnarok Online was available under the company Electronics Extreme as it was relaunched in 2017. It was only last October that it was announced that the game was closing and that all servers would shut down on November 28, 2021. That was just a week ago.

And so another launch for the PC version of Ragnarok Online is coming sometime in 2022, but what’s promising about this one is that this launch is under the company that created the game itself - Gravity. There’s currently no information if that would entail new content in the future but what’s sure is fans can expect another opportunity to take the same nostalgia trip, reliving the days of leveling up their character to 99, killing the same enemy in the hopes of getting it’s rare card drop, and winning pvp guild battles.
