Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion Launches This Week
/ Carlos HernandezBlizzard is all set to launch Hearthstone’s latest expansion called Scholomance Academy this week, August 7, 2020 (GMT +8), which includes 135 new cards to the game as well as new features to change up the online card game’s current meta.
There will be three new features added to Hearthstone once Scholomance Academy goes live.
Each class will be given their own version of the Studies spell card, allowing players to Discover a specific card type, then reducing that card’s cost by 1. These kinds of cards are considered support cards and will bring a variety of options. But time will tell if these kinds of cards will find a place in top decks as this is still utilizing the Discover keyword, which is picking out of a random pool of cards.
Scholomance Academy will introduce the new keyword Spellburst, which provides minions an effect that triggers only if the player casts a spell when the minion is in play. The trick here is that players can only trigger their minion’s Spellburst only one time once they are on the board, so you’ll have to time when to play a spell card to fully utilize Spellburst effects.
The last feature is possibly a game-changer for the game as Dual-Class cards will be added to Hearthstone for the first time. Dual Class cards are cards that are playable by two classes. There will be 40 Dual-Class cards available once Scholomance Academy goes live this week and a total of 10 class combinations:
Druid/Hunter
Hunter/Demon Hunter
Demon Hunter/Warlock
Warlock/Priest
Priest/Paladin
Paladin/Warrior
Warrior/Rogue
Rogue/Mage
Mage/Shaman
Shaman/Druid
All 135 cards coming to Hearstone from the Scholomance Academy expansion can be viewed in Hearthstone’s official site here. The expansion will go live on August 7, 2020 GMT +8 / August 6, 2020 EST.
