Hearthstone’s Next Expansion March of the Lich King Will Introduce the Death Knight Class

Blizzard announced that their next expansion for their free-to-play card game Hearthstone will be March of the Lich King, and it comes with the inclusion of the Death Knight class. This will be the last expansion for the year and will include 203 new cards.

New class - Death Knight

The new Death Knight class will launch with 68 new class cards, 32 of them will be part of the game’s Core set of cards. He will have a Hero Power called Ghoul Charge, which summons a 1/1 Ghoul with Charge that dies at the end of the turn. The class will then have a new resource called Corpses as any friendly minion that dies will be counted as a Corpse. The class will then feature three specific runes for deckbuilding a Death Knight deck.

  • Blood for control gameplay with health manipulation.

  • Frost for direct damage with icy spells.

  • Unholy for swarms of minions across the board.

You can have three runes attached to the deck. Simply put, the rune combinations you attach on your deck will determine which Death Knight cards you can include in your deck.

March of the Lich King expansion features

For the March of the Lich King expansion, it will introduce a new Minion type called Undead and all cards from previous expansions will be updated to have the Undead minion type. The expansion will also introduce dual-type minions, so you’ll have cards that identify as Undead and Dragon, for example. The new keyword for this expansion will be Manathirst. • No mana needs to be consumed for the bonus effect to be triggered.

You’ll also see the return of the keyword Reborn in this expansion, a keyword that if a reborn minion dies, it gets resummoned with 1 health.
