Gotham Knights will no longer release on the PS4 and Xbox One

Publisher Warner Bros. and developer WB Games Montreal announced that their upcoming 4-player game Gotham Knights will no longer be released on the PS4 and Xbox One. It will only be available on current-gen consoles PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

When Gotham Knights was revealed back in 2020  it was confirmed early on that it would be available for current and previous gen consoles, but that’s no longer the case.

Together with the announcement, WB Games Montreal released a 13-minute gameplay demo featuring two of the four playable characters in Gotham Knights – Nightwing and the Red Hood.

The gameplay demo showcases Nightwing and Redhood combat but also shows how the two characters get around the open world. Aside from the grappling hook that every Gotham Knight has, Nightwing has access to a glider to go to his destination while Redhood has a supernatural touch as he has a mystal leap to go around faster. Each playable hero will have access to the batcycle as well for car chase sequences.

In the gameplay demo, Geoff Ellenor, game director for Gotham Knights, narrated the video below and mentioned that the game’s UI can be customized to a player’s preference as you can make it as minimal or detailed as you want.

It is also revealed that pre-orders for Gotham Knights is now available and will have three versions of the game on sale.

  • Standard Edition ($69.99) - includes the base game

  • Deluxe Edition ($89.99) – Includes the base game and Visionary Pack downloadable content with exclusive gear, cosmetics, Beyond Suitstyle character skins inspired by the Batman Beyond animated series, and more.

  • Collector’s Edition ($299.99) – Includes the Deluxe Edition, augmented reality collectable pin, 16-page media book, exclusive Gotham City map, four-character statue diorama and more.
