Four classic Syphon Filter games rated for PS5 and PS4 in Korea

It looks like something is stirring to those hoping to replay classic Syphon Filter games as the Games Rating and Administration Committee of Korea just rated Syphon Filter, Syphon Filter 2, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, and Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

What does this rating mean? It’s highly possible that this is PlayStation preparing to offer these games through their new PlayStation Plus premium tiers that will start rolling out this June. Or maybe they have something else planned for these titles.

Syphon Filter originally launched for the Playstation on February 17, 1999 , which then received a sequel that was released a year later, on March 14, 2000. Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror was a PSP titled that launched on March 14, 2006, then Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow a year later on October 2, 2007.

If this comes out true and available in PlayStation’s new PS Plus offering, the only Syphon Filter missing in the list will be Syphon Filter 3 that was released on the PlayStation on November 6, 2001, and Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain which released on the PlayStation 2 on May 4, 2004.

The last Syphon Filter game released was 14 years ago and the developer of the series, Bend Studios, is still around but is working on other projects. The studio’s latest title released was the post apocalyptic zombie open world game Days Gone which launched in 2019.
