Physical Copies of Persona 3 Reload in SEA Contain the Wrong Language Version

Sega and Atlus have announced that there is a version error in their physical copies of Persona 3 Reload, as those in Southeast Asia may have received the Chinese version of the game instead of the English version.

Atlus only brought up this language error the day before the Persona 3 Reload release. The copies affected are both the PS5 and PS4 versions, and Atlus pointed out that if you see your physical copy stating on the front cover that it’s the English version plus the product codes mentioned in the post above, you’re likely holding the affected copy with the error.

To rectify those affected by this error, all customers who have, or will, purchase a physical copy of the game with the error will receive a digital code for the English version of the game for free, but you’ll have to request the digital code through Sega’s customer support with proof that you’re affected by the error.

How to request for a digital code of Persona 3 Reload

If affected, head to Sega’s customer support and attach an image proving that you purchased a physical copy with the language error.

Again, indicators that you have the language error are the front cover stating it’s the ‘English version’ and then the spine cover showing the code ‘PLAS 11469’ for PS4 or ‘ELAS 10602’ for PS5.

It’s an unusual and frustrating situation, especially a day before the release of the game. Best to check with your local retailer before making a purchase and avoid going through customer support.

Persona 3 Reload is now available today on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

[Update: 2/2/2024]: Sega and Atlus have stated on social media that customers who have contacted SEGA customer support and have received their digital codes will “still be eligible to receive a physical replacement”. They state that after verifications are done, players should get their digital codes in approximately 24 hours.

They plan to make another update on this issue on February 9.

[Update: 2/11/2024]: Atlus SEA indeed make an update on the situation on February 9, that the replacement copies for those affected will becready around mid-march.

They plan to release another update on the situation on February 21.

[Update: 2/21/2024]: Atlus SEA made an update as they announced that they plan to ship PS4/PS5 physical copies out on March 8, and will likely arrive at retailers after a week.
