Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Version 1.020 Patch Adds Improved Quality in Performance Mode and More

Square Enix just updated their JRPG Final Fantasy VII Rebirth with a version 1.02 patch that adds improved visual quality to the game’s Performance mode and a few fixes.

One of the major complaints about the second in the remake trilogy of Final Fantasy VII is how blurry or muddy the open world can look at times compared to the game’s Graphic option, which is capped at 30 fps but delivers crispier environmental and character models.

The new Performance mode in this new patch is said to improve the game’s quality while playing the game in 60 fps. Players can choose “Sharp” for clearer visual quality. There is also now “Soft” which we suspect is the original Performance mode before the patch.

Beyond this, the patch is rather small in fixes but large in size as it was roughly a 5GB download.

Here’s the full patch notes of 1.02 from Square Enix:

- Corrected typos and omissions in some texts.
- Fixed an issue with the controlled character that would occur under certain conditions on the map.
・Fixed an issue where Red XIII's abilities "Lunatic High" and "Warrior's Inspiration" were easily canceled during battle.
-Fixed an issue where enemies would stop under certain conditions during battle.
-Fixed a progress issue that occurred under certain conditions in the quest.
- Improved frame rate and overall game stability.
- Added "Sharp" and "Soft" options to the performance mode screen output settings.
-Improved graphic quality.
・The camera's reverse setting is now reflected in the "gliding" mode when operating a sky chocobo.
・Reverse camera settings are reflected in the target mini-game camera.
- Enhanced guidance support while climbing the vines in the location "Mithril Mine".
- Added difficulty settings to the customization screen for the mini-games "Condor Fort" and "Gambit Gears".

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is now available on PlayStation 5.
