Activision have officially revealed their standalone free-to-play battle royale title and it’s called Call of Duty: Warzone, which launches this week, March 10 at exactly 10 PM EDT worldwide. It will also require a lot of hard disk space.

Around 85 to 101 GB, according to Charlie Intel, but we’re used to Call of Duty taking this much space. for those that already have Call of Duty Modern Warfare installed in your system, expect a 20 GB update instead in order to install Warzone.

This take on the battle royale genre pits 150 players in a last man standing match in an expansive map known as Verdansk, complete with vehicles and “well over 300 points of interest” according to a blog post from Activision.

Warzone will feature two game modes and the first is the traditional battle royale of 150 players in one match, but you are not going alone in this one, you are going in teams of three, similar to that other battle royale game.

The second game mode is called Plunder and will also take place on the Verdansk map. Players are tasked to collect in-game cash by looting various areas in the map. Killing a squad of three will result in your squad in taking their stash, and so on.

There will be a hefty amount of vehicles available to cover some ground in Verdansk such as ATVs, Tactical Rovers, SUVs, cargo trucks, and helicopters.

The features found in Verdansk

Warzone isn’t simply just another battle royale game as they’ve implemented some features to change the mold just a bit to hopefully stand out. One of which is The Gulag.

When you get eliminated for the first time, you will be taken as a “Prisoner of Warzone” and thrown into the Gulag. The goal? Wait for your turn for a 1v1 match with another player sent to fend for his life. The survive earns a second life as you will be freed and redeployed into Verdansk.

Contracts will be all around Verdansk and are activities that squads can activate and completing them will reward you with in-match cash and other loot to help in your goal to be the last team standing. There will be different types of contracts available at launch day like Recon Contracts that tasks you to secure a specific location or Scavenger Contracts where you find a series of Supply Boxes to complete.

Warzone will also featured Buy Stations, which are vendors that give players a place to spend the Cash they earn in the match for equipment, killstreaks, redeploy tokens, and more.
