A New Tekken Game Was Teased at Evo 2022

It looks like Bandai Namco is ready for the next battle as a new Tekken game was teased during EVO 2022, right after the conclusion of the event’s Tekken 7 tournament.

Right after South Korea’s Knee was crowned EVO 2022 champion in Tekken 7, Namco Bandai graced us with a video announcing a  free update (coming in August 17) consisting of balance adjustments to the game, as well as confirmation of the Tekken World TourGlobal Finals happening in Amsterdam in February 2023. Then, we get a really short teaser of a dated Kazuya carrying his father Heihachi to drop him off a cliff. It then quickly shifts into a modern Kazuya complete with a red eye and a scar, grinning at the camera with the words “GET READY” beside his face.

Is Tekken 8 confirmed?

Well, it’s safe to assume that it’s a new Tekken game. Is it Tekken 8? Bandai Namco or even Tekken’s game director Katsuhiro Harada is currently saying nothing about the short teaser seen at the end of the video. Check out the tease below.

It only makes sense that Bandai Namco and the rest of the Tekken development team is looking to the future and is working on the next mainline title for the series. Tekken 7 has been a monstrous success for the company ever since it was released in 2015 as it’s well over 9 million sales with years of post-launch content support from the developers.
