Nightfall: Escape, a Filipino horror game

nightfall-escape-quickpeek.jpg

nightfall escape We met some of the people behind Zeenoh Games at last year's ESGS (ESports and Gaming Summit). A mobile game studio that was working on a new horror game based on Filipino folklore.

They ran a pre-alpha test at their offices last May which we missed out on due to scheduling issues. But having tried a very early demo of Nightfall: Escape that they had at ESGS and hearing all the positive feedback from the game test and various articles online, we wondered about how much the game improved from the old demo.

The game is available on Steam under Early Access so you can check it out for yourself, follow the game's development, and give them feedback and suggestions on what you think they can further improve on.

Thief debut gameplay trailer

Thief6 Square Enix released a new trailer for Thief, showcasing the game's core gameplay. This is a reboot of the Thief series and it's looking pretty good and familiar at the same time.

The video shows Garret taking a job from an old friend; to steal the lion's heart. You see him infiltrate, steal, and escape without a hitch...well mostly.

Don't hold your breathe with this one, Thief will be released on February 25, 2014 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. February is looking to be a crowded month.

NieR with Migoy

nier

I borrowed Arlie's copy of NieR a few months ago and only really got to play it just recently. I've heard a lot of good things about this game but never really got down to buying it because of the mixed reviews it got early on and I wasn't really in the mood to play any RPGs at the time but when I tried this game out, I was surprised at how good the initial impression I got just from how it controls and how the combat feels.

I won't bore you guys with words, you can instead check out my playthrough of NieR on our new Let's Play channel over on youtube. I call it "NieR with Migoy". I'd come with a better title but that doesn't matter, the game is awesome. You can check out the NieR playlist here or you can watch all the parts that are currently live as the writing of this post down below. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII - "The Divine Task" trailer

lightning-returns-ff13-12 I'm so done with Final Fantasy XIII, but for those that want more out of Lightning and the world of Gran Pulse(What's left of it), a new trailer was just released explaining more about the game's story. It even introduces very familiar faces in previous games. Take a look below.

Lightning is back in the spotlight and is literally tasked by god to save as many people as she before the world ends. You will only get to control just Lightning this time around, making the game play out differently compared to previous games.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII comes out on February 11, 2014 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Just in case you missed it....

If you like what you see and want to throw down some money on it already, pre-ordering with give you this, which is a big treat for hardcore Final Fantasy fans.

Murdered: Soul Suspect Trailer

Murdered-Soul-Suspect-titleI caught this trailer yesterday during a Square Enix live stream right before I went to bed and murder mysteries have always piqued my interest. Ghost detectives are not a new thing but I've rarely seen it done right. A teaser site for this game was put up back in February earlier this year.

The trailer didn't really show how the game would play but lucky for us Gamespot did coverage of it's gameplay. It looks to be a modern day point and click adventure game but the best comparison would be to L.A. Noire's investigation sequences. Instead of interrogation, you look into the memories of the people around you and try to piece together what exactly happened. There are said to be stealth sequences too where you have to avoid or get passed my demons who can end your ghostly life.

I like that you can actually walk through walls instead of having to open doors to get around. You are a ghost after all. Murdered: Soul suspect is set to release on PS3, PC and Xbox 360 sometime next year.
