2022 has come and gone and it  was a fantastic year for gaming for a variety of reasons. We did have a few disappointments here and there but the considered “big hitters” definitely hit the mark and we had a few indies surprising as well. For me, these are the best games to come out of the year 2022.

Free-to-Play survival action game Deathverse: Let It Die will temporarily suspend its service starting July 18 as publisher GungHo Online Entertainment and developer Supertrick Games plans to redevelop the game to not only fix its matchmaking and lag issues, but deliver improvements to the game overall. 

Blizzard is updating Overwatch 2 with a new game mode called Battle for Olympus, which will be available for all players starting now until January 19, 2023. The new free-for-allo mode features seven heroes having new abilities.

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced at CES 2023 Project Leonardo, a highly customizable accessibility controller kit suited for the PlayStation 5.

The folks at Behaviour are back from the holidays and have released a January 2023 Developer update for Dead by Daylight, announcing big improvements coming to their 4v1 online horror game, such as improvements to Survivor UI, Nurse changes, Knight tweaks, a Challenge Tracker, and changes to the Eyrie of Crows map.

IO Entertainment starts 2023 by announcing that Hitman 3 will now be called Hitman World of Assassination, which simply merges Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 with the latest game, giving those that own the third game access to all the stages found in the first two games.

Santa Monica Studio have announced that God of War Ragnarok will be updated with a New Game+ mode sometime in Spring 2023. No details were given beyond confirming that the team will indeed work on delivering what is considered a sought after feature. 

Sega announced that they’ll be holding a Sega Winter Sale for the Holidays on the PlayStation Store from December 21 until January 6, 2023. Titles like the recently released Sonic Frontiers, Lost Judgment, and more are discounted on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 titles.
