Free-to-play The Cycle: Frontier launches June 8 on Steam and Epic Games Store

The free-to-play high-risk shooter The Cycle: Frontier will launch with a pre-season on June 8 on Steam and Epic games Store. Then, after two weeks, season 1 starts on June 22, 2022.

Think of the pre-season as a soft launch as The Cycle: Frontier developers YAGER announced that there will be no account wipes between the pre-season and the start of Season 1. Though the game’s in-game store will be available during the pre-season, the game’s first battle pass will be available once Season 1 goes live.

The Cycle: Frontier is a PvPvE high-risk shooter in the same vein as Escape from Tarkov where players jump into a hostile planet to salvage any items they can find and extract safely. Dying while on the ground will result in you losing all your gear and loot on you, and you can easily lose them as there are alien hostile creatures that attack on site and actual players that will likely gun you down to have your gear.

I joined the second closed beta back in April and I consider it the best introduction to high-stakes shooters. It was also pretty solid all around that releasing the game as is at the time wouldn’t be a crime.

Many show the same sentiment as the game managed to grab over 900,000 during both their beta test events. The Cycle: Frontier is also currently the most wishlisted game on Steam.
