Street Fighter 6 and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Now Available on Switch 2 with New Features

Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 Year 1-2 Fighters Edition and their beautiful tower defense action game hybrid Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess are now available on the Nintendo Switch 2. Both titles launch today, coinciding with the release of the new console in the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

Street Fighter 6 Year 1-2 Fighters Edition is available both digitally and physically. However, take note that the physical version comes as a Game-Key Card, which means the full game isn’t stored on the card, meaning, expect the need to download the game to start playing.

Street Fighter 6 Years 1-2 Fighters Edition Switch 2 Features

Capcom has introduced some unique features for the Switch 2 version, taking advantage of the new console’s capabilities and adding fresh ways to enjoy the game:

Local Wireless Match – One on One brings all of your favorite Street Fighter 6 characters to the forefront for serious bouts against any rival via Local Wireless mode! Challenge your friends who also have the Nintendo Switch 2 and test your skills in epic showdowns.

Local Avatar Match – Bring your personalized fighter to life in Avatar Matches, newly added in Local Wireless mode. Play as your custom avatar from World Tour and use newly acquired moves you’ve learned during your journey.

Tabletop Mode – Share the excitement with friends using the Joy-Con 2 and enjoy Street Fighter 6 in tabletop mode, allowing players to battle it out anywhere!

Gyro Battle – Get ready to shake things up with the Joy-Cons as two players battle it out using dynamic motion controls, all while following the same rules as one-on-one matches.

Calorie Contest – This unique and fun mode enables players to use their Joy-Cons to perform various actions, such as landing attacks and performing Super Arts that will build up Calorie Gauges. It’s a contest that challenges both your strength and endurance!

Additional Content and Amiibo Support

The Switch 2 version includes all Year 1 and Year 2 content, offering a massive package with 26 characters, Outfit 1 for all base launch characters with Colors 3-10, and 20 stages.

Capcom is also rolling out Street Fighter 6 Amiibo Cards featuring all 22 characters from the Year 1 roster, alongside Amiibo figures for Luke, Jamie, and Kimberly. More are planned in the future. Scanning these Amiibo figures or cards will unlock in-game rewards, though Capcom hasn’t detailed what those rewards will be.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess – Switch 2 Features

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is a fantastic strategy-action game that blends character control with tower defense elements. It’s a unique experience where you cleanse villages from demon infestations while managing defenses and your units. I had a blast playing it to completion on PC Game Pass, and it feels like a great fit for on-the-go gaming.

Capcom has introduced exclusive ways to enjoy the game on the Switch 2:

  • Portable Play – Play at home or wherever the journey takes you with the handheld, tabletop, and TV modes.

  • New Ways to Battle – Try out the new mouse and gyro controls for new ways to battle against the sinister Seethe.

  • Venture Even Further – Explore the new content, “Otherworldly Venture,” that introduces various challenges. Outlast each wave of enemies, earn rewards to continue forth, and aim for a high score. This extra content is also now available on all existing platforms as a free download.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess will be available as a digital-only title via the Nintendo eShop. This version comes with all previous updates, including the Okami collaboration, which adds themed costumes for Amaterasu and Waka, a special weapon appearance, a unique Mazo Talisman, and a new background music track.
