Spyro: A Realm Beyond Announced at Xbox Games Showcase

Activision Blizzard and developer Toys for Bob revealed a brand-new Spyro game called Spyro: A Realm Beyond, set to release in Spring 2027 for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Switch 2, and PC. It will also be available on Game Pass on day one.

It's great to see Spyro return, and it looks like he's all grown up, as his character design has changed, and he's now more than capable of full flight rather than just gliding, clearly showing that aerial freedom will be a major feature in the new game.

Toys for Bob is the same developer behind the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and this new game marks the first original mainline entry in the series since 2008. It was also confirmed that Tom Kenny, the original voice actor of Spyro, will return for the new game.

This is one of the many big reveals during the 2026 Xbox Games Showcase, which also saw Persona 6 get announced, along with both Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution confirmed as Xbox console exclusives.
