Splitgate 2 Open Beta Content
The open beta goes live with an impressive amount of content:
Over 25 Weapons – Including the brand-new Borealis, an energy carbine power weapon
Over 15 Maps – Featuring two new massive 24-player Onslaught maps: Drought and Fracture
Over 10 Modes – With fan-favorite Takedown making a triumphant return, where teams battle to eliminate all members of the opposing team before they can respawn
The announcement also teased the return of a level editor, hinting at the possibility of infinite maps in the future.
While this marks the launch of the open beta, it could also be seen as a form of early access release—a common move for many free-to-play titles. Notably, no end date for the beta was announced, suggesting it may serve as an ongoing soft launch.
Splitgate 2’s previous test phase, the open alpha, began on February 27 and was widely praised for its gameplay and polish, with many saying it felt ready for a full release. The open beta was first revealed in March, but it's only now that we have a confirmed launch date.
