ROG Xbox Ally X Price Revealed, Pre-Orders Open Ahead of October Launch
/During the Tokyo Game Show 2025, Xbox announced that the ROG Xbox Ally X and the standard ROG Xbox Ally, developed in partnership with Republic of Gamers (ROG), are now available for pre-order in 38 countries worldwide.
ROG Xbox Ally X Price Revealed
The company also confirmed the prices for both models:
ROG Xbox Ally X - $999.99
ROG Xbox Ally - $599.99
Much like the Xbox Series X and Series S, these handhelds target different audiences. The Ally X is a higher-tier device with upgraded specs, while the base Ally offers a more affordable but less powerful option.
Pre-Orders Now Live in 38 Countries
Pre-orders for both handhelds are now open in the following countries:
Australia, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Vietnam, Egypt, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Slovenia, South Africa, Thailand, and Ukraine.
Pre-orders are available through Xbox’s official site, ROG Xbox Ally sites, the ASUS eshop, and select local retailers.
Sadly, the Philippines doesn’t make the list, which makes me expect a much higher price point, as retail stores are likely to ship these handheld devices from other countries.
What’s the main hook for such a device?
The biggest hook for these devices is flexibility, at least, that’s how I think, as portability isn’t really much of a main reason, as there’s a variety of options. Unlike some handhelds locked into a single ecosystem, the ROG Xbox Ally X can run:
Xbox console and PC games
The full Xbox Game Pass library
Remote play via Xbox Cloud Gaming
Games from other storefronts like Steam
The ROG Xbox Ally X will be much stronger and faster as it will have 24 GB of memory and even have more space by default with 1 TB of SSD space, compared to the ROG Xbox Ally that has only 16 GB of memory and 512 GB of SSD space.
The ROG Xbox Ally X and ROG Xbox Ally will launch globally on October 16.
Ghost of Yotei is less of an upgrade but a clear testament to Sucker Punch’s true specialty, and a reminder of how powerful an open-world samurai adventure can be. It’s gorgeous, tightly crafted, endlessly absorbing, and a must-play for anyone with a PS5.
