Publisher Bethesda and developer Tango Gameworks announced that Ghostwire: Tokyo will indeed launch on March 25 on PlayStation and PC. They also announced a live showcase of the game set to happen on February 3 2:00 p.m. PT / 5:00 p.m. PT through the PlayStation Youtube channel.

Many caught a glimpse of the release date of Ghostwire: Tokyo as the PlayStation Store accidentally showed the release date that was unannounced at the time. The mistake was quickly taken down but not fast enough as many users noticed the date and took a screenshot.

Face the Unknown – Tango is known for their creepy monsters and Japan’s culture—stories of youkai (supernatural beings from Japanese folklore), ghost stories, and urban legends—provides plenty of inspiration. In the studio’s version of Tokyo, evil spirits are wandering the city in search of victims. Players will encounter supernatural entities such as Shiromoku, a spirit of a young bride in a traditional white kimono who was unable to wed her lover and has endless regret, and Amewarashi, a paranormal entity in the form of a child wearing a raincoat that manifests due to its great sadness from being separated from his parents and his mischievous spirit.

Despite Microsoft now set to purchase Bethesda, the company will honor the deal made by Bethesda and Sony before the acquisition was made as Ghostwire: Tokyo will remain as a timed exclusive on the PlayStation 5 for one year. This is a similar agreement to Arkane’s Deathloop that was released in 2021.
