/EVO 2025 remains the biggest fighting game tournament in the world, and it’s also become the go-to stage for developers to unveil new titles and updates for major games like Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, and more.
All the Big Fighting Game Reveals at EVO 2025
As always, the weekend-long event was packed with surprises. Here's a quick rundown of all the major reveals, trailers, and future updates announced, many of which dropped right after the finals of each game.
Virtua Fighter New Project - First actual gameplay footage shown
Sega and developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has given what seems to be an actual match in the new Virtua Fighter game. It’s still a tease of sorts but at least we have a look at the gameplay foundation.
More details about the game will be shown at the 2025 Tokyo Game Show, which runs from September 25 to 28.
Street Fighter 6 - C. Viper Teaser Trailer
C. Viper is the next character after Sagat to join Street Fighter 6 as she’s set to launch sometime in Autumn 2025.
Invincible VS - Omni-Man Joins the Roster
No surprise that Omni-Man will be joining a 3v3 fighting game based on Invincible, but he’s officially announced at EVO and we got a teaser of him in action.
Tekken 8 - Armor King Launches October 16, New Fighter Miary Zo Announced
Bandai Namco revealed that the next DLC character Armor King will launch on October 13 as part of the Season 2 Character Pass. Watch the lengthy trailer towards the end as it teases a completely new character releasing next - Miary Zo from Madadgascar. She’s set to launch sometime this Winter.
Guilty Gear: Strive - Lucy DLC Launches August 21
Cyberpunk 2077: Edgrunners’ Lucy is heading to Guilty Gear: Strive on August 21 for $6.99. This is our first look at the character in action.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls - Closed Beta Set for September 5 - 7
Arc System Works not only revealed and showcased their upcoming 4v4 fighting game Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, they also announced that the game will have a closed beta from September 5 to September 7.
The closed beta will feature six playable characters, online matches, spectator mode, a training tutorial, and more.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves - Ken DLC out Today
SNK revealed that Ken from Street Fighter will be available in Fatal Fury: City of Wolves today.
Under Night In-Birth II - Sys Celes New DLC Character
A new DLC character for Under Night: in Birth II is Sys: Celes, and is set to launch on August 18.
Capcom Fighting Collection 2 - Title Update Goes Live on August 7
The collection will be updated with quality life updates and new content such a new artwork, sound rack, and four new characters for Street Fighter Alpha 3 UPPER: Maki, Yun, Eagle, and Ingrid.
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising - DLC Character Wilnas Launching This August
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising’s next DLC character will be Wilnas, and will launch on August 5 and is part of the game’s Chracter Pass Season 2. Alone the DLC character will cost $7.99. The release of the new character will coincide with the game’s 2.20 update, which is said to introduce “EX Characters', remixed versions of classic skyfarers.
My time with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 made me realize how overdue we are for a brand-new entry. This is a franchise that doesn’t need to reinvent itself to stay relevant. Sometimes, being fun is enough, and this remake delivers just that.
