Diablo IV Has Gone Gold
Blizzard has announced that the action RPG Diablo IV has gone gold, meaning main development has concluded and is now ready for mass production in preparation for its full release on June 6.
The company made the announcement on its Twitter account with the caption “Can you feel her presence now?”, referring to the game’s antagonist Lilith, the daughter of Mephisto, one of the prime evils of Hell.
In a blog post from Blizzard, the developers pointed out that the recent March 17 to 24 open beta test proved fruitful for the game as data and player feedback have helped adjust the game’s many events including Dungeon and the events contained inside them. They’ll also adjust this content to be less repetitive and tedious, so hopefully they will feel better in June.
Diablo IV is by far the biggest game in the franchise as it will launch as an open world game with over 120 dungeons, with various activities such as world bosses, side quests, PvP zones, paragon boards, and more. We then have Nightmare Dungeons that repurpose all the dungeons you get to explore in the campaign for endgame content.
In Game Informer’s cover story on Diablo IV, Blizzard aims to deliver new content for the game every three months after launch as it will be supported like a live service game.
I was able to play Diavlo IV’s open beta with the rest of the world and the game is shaping up quite well with big improvements seen in the game’s storytelling and scale of the overall game. The big worry is if Blizzard’s servers are prepared for an influx of players logging in all at the same time on launch day as history might repeat for the franchise as Diablo III wasn’t a smooth launch on PC.
Diablo IV will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
Code Vein 2 delivers serviceable soulslike combat and flexible builds, but its bloated systems, uninspired open world, and inconsistent performance keep it from standing out in an already crowded genre. It definitely has ambition, but many of its ideas feel more like background noise than meaningful twists, leaving the sequel competent but ultimately forgettable.
