Details on Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s Roadmap

The 4v3 horror game Texas Chainsaw Massacre is now officially out in the wild and people are enjoying the game in its first days of release. As players slowly progress through the game, some are likely wondering, what can we expect from developer Sumo Digital in the future? Is there a roadmap of any sort?

Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s Roadmap

As of this writing, no roadmap of any kind was announced before and during the game’s release week by either the publisher or the developer. In fact, in an interview with Mp1st back in July, they said they don’t plan to release any kind of roadmap…for now at least.

”We will not be providing a roadmap, but we are always thinking about what the first year will look like for our fans. We want to provide as much content as possible, but obviously the success of the game will dictate what the first 12-18 months looks like for new content.”

Well, success seems likely as the official Texas Chainsaw Massacre Twitter page revealed that the game has amassed over 1 million players in its first days released on PC, consoles, and Xbox Game Pass.

Via SteamDB, the game reached a concurrent player count of over 16,000 on Steam alone.

Wondering about a roadmap for the game is understandable as one of the last games Gun Interactive published was Friday the 13th, a similar horror game that slowly died a horrible death once the studio lost their licensing for the franchise as it was eventually shut down and delisted from all online storefronts.

But Friday the 13th didn’t have such a strong start as Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and with this much momentum, it is likely possible the game will be supported by the developer for a longer period.

But for now, no roadmap has been laid out for the public.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre is now available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and through Xbox Game Pass.
